{"id":47,"date":"2011-02-03T12:06:55","date_gmt":"2011-02-03T12:06:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/isabelbarros.blogs.ie\/2011\/02\/03\/p47\/"},"modified":"2011-12-21T18:03:15","modified_gmt":"2011-12-21T18:03:15","slug":"p47","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/isabelbarrosarchitects.ie\/blog\/p47\/","title":{"rendered":"Government Policy on Architecture 2009 \u2013 2015: First Annual Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government has published the <a title=\"GPA Report\" href=\"http:\/\/www.environ.ie\/en\/Publications\/Heritage\/ArchitecturalPolicy\/FileDownLoad,25281,en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">first Annual Report of the Government Policy on Architecture 2009-2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.environ.ie\/en\/Publications\/Heritage\/ArchitecturalPolicy\/FileDownLoad,25281,en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"GPA Report\" src=\"http:\/\/isabelbarrosarchitects.ie\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/import\/images\/thumb-GPA%20Report.jpg\" alt=\"GPA Report\" width=\"400\" height=\"259\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Government through this <a href=\"http:\/\/isabelbarrosarchitects.ie\/blog\/p27\/\" target=\"_blank\">policy on architecture and the built environment<\/a> seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the contribution of good design to the daily life and well-being of society as a whole. <strong>High quality design<\/strong>, whether in the details of the buildings we work in, or in the spaces and places that we share socially, <strong>should not be viewed as a luxury<\/strong>, achievable on a one-off basis. The realisation of good architecture is fundamentally about much more than individual buildings. It must also concern itself with the realisation of an acceptable human environment for all.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/isabelbarrosarchitects.ie\/blog\/p27\/\" target=\"_blank\">policy<\/a> places more emphasis on sustainable development of the environment and urban design, continuing to encourage and support high quality modern architecture, incorporating architectural heritage in a holistic, integrated manner and developing actions which respond to and promote awareness in these areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government has published the first Annual Report of the Government Policy on Architecture 2009-2015.
